”Hey there, I'm Heidi! I launched this blog back in January of 2023 and I'm having a blast writing in a laidback style. Although, my ultimate goal is to become a pro writer one day. Thanks for joining me on this journey!”

Hey there, new friend! If you’ve stumbled upon my blog before, you know I’m all about the glow-up – whether it’s in your personal or professional life. Buckle up and get ready for a wild ride because I am so stoked to welcome you back to my little corner of the internet. Let’s dive in and uncover some sweet new insights, game-changing ideas, and killer strategies to help you conquer the world!

In the coming weeks, I’ll share my insights on various topics, from leadership and management to productivity and personal development. As we all know, the world is constantly in flux, and it’s up to us to keep up with the pace of change. Whether you’re an entrepreneur, a business leader, or simply someone who wants to stay ahead of the curve, there’s no shortage of challenges and opportunities.

Your life does not get better by chance; it gets better by change.” -Jim Rohn

The Butterfly Effect, which is a phenomenon in chaos theory, suggests that small changes in one system can result in significant changes in another. On the other hand, the Law of Attraction, a metaphysics concept, suggests that thoughts and emotions can attract positive or negative experiences into one’s life.

The fluttery

Have you ever stopped to think about the power of your choices and their impact on the world around you? Imagine you were waiting your turn to pay for groceries in a supermarket before there were any self-service cashiers. First, you would look around and see which one could be the fastest to get through. You pick the wrong one, and the customer before you has an issue with one product, and the cashier has to call customer service and ask about the price from someone. Before you know it, you tell yourself you should have picked the cashier next to this one where customers are going through faster. But because all your groceries are on the conveyor belt already, there’s no point in changing it anymore. Perhaps waiting in the grocery store line will align you with colliding with someone later that day.

I have become so fascinated by these little changes and decisions we, as humans, make daily. What kind of places do these decisions take us, and how many different encounters could we have if we keep our hearts open? Like Alan told me, little acts of kindness could change many people’s lives. A random act of kindness can save someone’s life. It may seem like a small and insignificant gesture at the time, but its impact can be far-reaching and profound. The butterfly effect, which is the idea that small changes in one part of a system can have a significant and unpredictable impact elsewhere, also applies to acts of kindness. Just as the flapping of a butterfly’s wings can cause a hurricane on the other side of the world, a small act of kindness can have a ripple effect that spreads far beyond its initial impact.

Imagine it as a kind word to a stranger having a bad day. This small action can lift their spirits and improve their mood. They may then share this positivity with others they interact with, creating a domino effect of good vibes. This can lead to a cascade of positive outcomes, from improved relationships to increased productivity and creativity.

The law of attraction

There are 12 universal laws, of which the law of attraction, perhaps, is the most known. It is based on the idea that we can manifest our desires and attract positive energy by focusing our thoughts and emotions on what we want to achieve. This concept has gained popularity in recent years, and many people believe it can help them create the life they want.

One way to do this is to set clear intentions and visualise yourself already achieving your goals. This can be done through daily affirmations, meditation, or visualisation exercises. It’s also important to stay open to the opportunities that come your way and to take action towards your goals.

When attracting energy into your life, it is essential to understand that your thoughts and emotions play a crucial role in shaping your reality. If you focus on negative thoughts and feelings, you are likely to attract negative energy and experiences. On the other hand, if you focus on positive thoughts and emotions, you will attract positive energy and experiences.

There is no scientific proof to back this up, but what has proven that energy is contagious. Suppose one possesses negativity to complain about the weather. In that case, it’s effortless to jump into that wagon of bleat — or you can try to practise self-awareness and turn it around thinking there is no bad weather, just lousy dressing up. It goes the same with positive energy; smiles and laughs are contagious.

Everything is within your power, and your power is within you.”― Janice Trachtman, Catching What Life Throws at You

We naturally experience ups and downs and should not ignore negative emotions altogether. Instead, we should learn to acknowledge and accept them to embrace growth and positive change. Experiencing both types of energy makes us human and helps us grow. Negative energy, such as stress or uncertainty, can push us to change and improve ourselves. Positive energy, such as joy and gratitude, can help us appreciate what we already have and motivate us to continue on our path towards success.

The key is to channelise the negative energy towards constructive actions. We learn to develop resilience and adaptability as we confront challenges with a positive mindset. These qualities can help us navigate through difficult times and emerge stronger than before. It is also essential to surround ourselves with positive and constructive influences. We should seek out mentors, friends, and colleagues who inspire us to grow and learn. We should also invest in ourselves by learning new skills, pursuing hobbies, and engaging in self-care practices.

My energy alignment

I see life as a never-ending journey of growth and development. I am constantly given opportunities to learn and expand my knowledge and skills, making life exciting and fulfilling. Lifelong learning is the key to staying engaged and curious; it is never too late to start. I don’t think I even realise all the perspectives where I can grow yet; I can only tell that I’m diving deep. It’s like a breath of fresh air when you allow the world to show you what she is made out of.

For that fraction of a second, trying to talk myself out of things, I’m already walking toward places I usually wouldn’t go to. I take myself to tables I don’t belong to learn more from people and hear their stories. I have noticed that my life has become more prosperous with friends from different ages, backgrounds and cultures. I want to invite them to the same table and have cultural evenings, celebrating, learning from each other and rejoicing the differences. That’s the life I want to have.

I learned to listen to my intuition and trust my inner guidance, which allowed me to make decisions aligned with my values and purpose. I also started caring for my physical and emotional health, which helped me feel more energised and focused. Through meditation and self-reflection, I understood the importance of focusing on my journey and not worrying about what others were doing.

I have dedicated myself to a regular reading habit in the past year. As it is often said, reading offers the opportunity to experience countless lives in contrast to just one. Amongst the many books that I have read, I hold a particular affinity for The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. This book has been instrumental in guiding me towards relinquishing my need to “save” those closest to me and, instead, prioritize my own needs and my role as a mother.

The light is too painful for someone who wants to remain in darkness.” ― Eckhart Tolle, The Power of Now

Gratitude & self-awareness

From the very start of last year, I’ve been dedicated to jotting down notes in my journal to discover what ignites my soul. And what I’ve found is simply awe-inspiring – it’s the power of kindness and the magic of gratitude. The sheer joy I feel after performing a random act of kindness is unmatched, and it reminds me that even in the darkest days, a little bit of kindness can go a long way. So I make it my mission to spread love and kindness wherever I go, knowing that one small act of kindness can ignite a spark of hope in someone who needs it the most.

Gratitude

When we express gratitude, we open ourselves to a world of abundance and positivity. There are countless ways to express gratitude, from saying thank you to writing a heartfelt letter. Remember, gratitude is not just a feeling; it’s a way of life.

How to express gratitude:
  • Start with a grateful heart: Cultivate a mindset of gratitude and appreciate the little things in your life.
  • Say thank you: Thank others for their kindness, support, and love.
  • Write a note: Take the time to write a heartfelt message of gratitude to someone who has touched your life.
  • Give a small gift: Surprise someone with a little token of appreciation, such as a flower, a card, or a thoughtful present.
  • Volunteer your time: Giving back to the community is a great way to express gratitude and make a positive impact.

Self-awareness

Self-awareness is the key to unlocking your full potential and living a fulfilling life. It is the ability to objectively observe yourself, your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. It allows you to understand your strengths and weaknesses, values and beliefs, and how they affect your decisions and actions.

How to practise self-awareness:
  • Mindfulness meditation: Take time each day to silence and focus on your breath, allowing your thoughts to come and go without judgment.
  • Journaling: Write down your thoughts and feelings, reflect on your experiences, and explore your inner world.
  • Self-reflection: Take a step back and analyse your actions, behaviours, and attitudes. Ask yourself what you could have done differently and how you can improve.
  • Seek feedback: Ask others for honest feedback on your strengths and weaknesses. Listen to constructive criticism and use it to grow.
  • Practice self-compassion: Be kind and understanding towards yourself. Treat yourself with the same compassion and care as a good friend.

Thank you for taking the time to read this article. Remember, every day is a new opportunity to chase your dreams and reach your goals. Keep pushing forward, and never give up on your aspirations. I believe in you and know you have the strength and resilience to overcome any obstacle.

Be kind & don’t go changing,
x Heidi
